Antique Clocks & Barometers from a Leading UK Dealer - Antique Longcase Clock Specialist

The Longcase Clock Specialist - Established in 1971

Showroom 1

Visitors are welcome at our showrooms by appointment in a converted coach house, which was built in 1843 at the same time as the adjacent Old Rectory. A larger showroom was added in 1988 to accommodate the tall London longcase clocks. Here you can examine a wide range of longcase clocks, grandfather clocks, bracket/table clocks, wall clocks, and barometers. We usually have several antique longcase clocks available that were made over 300 years ago. All are guaranteed to be original and genuine and restored to the very highest standards. We will be happy to discuss your particular requirements.

All clocks and barometers bought from P. A. Oxley are guaranteed for twelve months from purchase. Thereafter, our specialist resources are available to give you complete peace of mind. We regularly supply clients all over the world, and all deliveries outside the UK are made by air. Typically, a longcase clock can be in the USA within two weeks; and is unlikely to take above four weeks to any other destination. Our approved export shipper is a specialist in packing and transporting longcase clocks and barometers. Our own vehicles deliver door-to-door in the UK, together with an installation expert who will ensure that your purchase is properly commissioned.

Only the most skilful and experienced specialists work on the clocks and barometers when necessary, and do so to the highest standards. Each member in our team of independent, professional, craftsmen is dedicated to restoring cases, movements and dials with the utmost care and attention. Their painstaking work brings back the original character of each element. This attention to detail enhances the intrinsic beauty of the whole piece without detracting from its age.

For Michael Oxley, formerly managing director of a public company that was concerned with developing time machines for contemporary businesses, an interest in historic timepieces was hardly out of place.

He and his wife, Patricia, bought and restored their first antique longcase clock in 1968, and within two years established P. A. Oxley Antique Clocks. They moved into the Old Rectory at Cherhill in 1978.
