Small Fusee Mantel Clock by Jump....
A delightfully small and well proportioned mantel clock with Maple veneer and Tulipwood edge inlay. High quality and small English mantel clocks from the late 19th century are quite unusual. The Jump brothers were very successful Clockmakers and also originated from the Vulliamy workshops.
The Nelson Longcase Clock.....
You will see from the images that Nelson's Tomb is depicted in the arch of this longcase clock as can be seen below St Paul's Cathedral on a modern day tour. Also depicated is Brittania who for many years has been asscociated with our Royal Navy. Although Nelson inspired objects are not rare it is quite unusual to find him depicated on a longcase clock. The eagle eyed amongst you may have also noticed two original mistakes on the dial. Firstly the place name is spelt without an 'E' and secondly where you would normally see a V for 5 o'clock there is an X.
